Hi Emma,
Great work in today's class. You did a great job with your homework and used proper nouns correctly. Also, you have remembered all the grammar rules we have learnt (i.e. Are / is) and you use these perfectly each time you write, well done. Today we read about places in a town and learnt how to give directions using a map. You read clearly and fluently and come up with some great words for giving directions. You also learnt a new word: playground. I want you to include this word in your homework to help you remember. Also, please look up “jiaotiang”, as I am interested to know what this means! You can also use this as one of the places in your homework. This lesson we will continue learning about directions and we will be reading stories about places, directions and different towns.

Homework: Draw a map of your town. Include at least 8-10 places. Label (name) each place and then write directions to 6 of the places.
Remember to also include a sentence describing how each place looks. I will attach a copy of the map and table of directions from today's story as an example.
Some words that you can use to give directions: above, beside, to the right of, to the left of, around, next to, near.
Remember: this homework is not due until next Sunday.
